Marion is an established short story writer who has appeared in a wide range of independent magazines, including Peninsular, Solander, QWF, Hayakawa Mystery Magazine (Japan), Chapman Magazine, Scottish Child, Books Ireland, West Coast, Northwords, and most successfully, in Crimewave.

She has a couple of awards to her credit : QWF's Philip Good Memorial Prize for Fiction for 'Fortune's Favourite' and the CWA Short Dagger (2001) for 'Prussian Snowdrops'. (Crimewave 4, 2000). Her story 'Marbles' (Crimewave 6, 2002) was shortlisted for the short dagger in 2002.

It was also nominated for a Derringer Award. She also has a story in the Paisley Writers Group anthology, 'A Strange Place'. Marion's story 'Dollface', from Sleepwalkers, has been shortlisted for the 2003 CWA Short Fiction Dagger.

 A story is pending in 'Over My Dead Body' , and one about the Glasgow enigma, Madeleine Smith, appears in Crimewave 7. 'Prussian Snowdrops' appeared this year in Datlow and Windling's 'Year's Best Fantasy and Horror vol. 15'. 


'Marbles' is due to appear in the upcoming anthology 'Best British Mystery Stories of the Year' published by Allison and Busby in November 2003, edited by Maxim Jakubowski.
